Passage AI is an AI trip planner that builds walkable day-by-day itineraries, then guides you on foot and tells you the story of each place as you arrive.
Why I built it
I've traveled to more than 20 countries as a tourist, and I kept running into the same problem. I'd walk past buildings without knowing what they were. A city holds so much information and history, and most of it got lost on me because nobody told me what I was looking at.
Passage started in summer 2026 as a live tour guide that my mom and I made together. She added onto it, and then I redesigned it and kept building. It grew into the full app: you plan the trip in Passage, and on the day it walks with you as your guide.
Who builds it
I'm Edward Ter-Hovhannisyan, the founder of Passage AI. I'm Armenian and I'm from St. Louis. I study Finance and Economics at Purdue University. Passage AI is not affiliated with Purdue University.
KOMITAS LLC makes the app. That is the developer name you will see on the App Store listing. The iPhone app went live on the App Store in August 2026, and you can also use Passage AI on the web at mypassage.ai.
How it works
You pick a destination and your dates. For each day, the AI drafts a plan of real places in walking order, with meal stops and times, and keeps nearby stops together so you are not crossing the city twice. You can reorder stops, add your own, and share the trip with the people you travel with.
On the day, Guide mode turns your plan into a deck of stop cards. When you reach a stop, the card has the story of the place: some history, a few facts and visitor tips. Tap Listen if you want to hear it read out.
